I photograph families, weddings, and meaningful moments with a natural, relaxed approach — capturing images that feel honest, warm, and true to you. Based in Ceredigion, I work with families and couples across West Wales and travel throughout Wales to document stories as they naturally unfold.

I’m May, the photographer behind Maybeams Photography, based in Ceredigion.
My path into photography has always been shaped by people — through my background in youth work, a lifelong love of creativity, and a deep appreciation for real, everyday life. Becoming a parent changed everything, opening my eyes to just how quickly the ordinary moments pass — the quiet details, the fleeting phases, the pieces of life that one day become the most precious memories.
I’m drawn to candid, meaningful photography that feels natural and honest. Whether I’m photographing families, weddings, events, or brands, my focus is always on connection — gently documenting moments as they unfold, without pressure or performance.
The photographs I create are for looking back on — for remembering not just how it looked, but how it felt.

Outdoor shoots are relaxed and natural, designed for couples and families who want their moments captured just as they are. From golden hour light on the beach to meaningful sessions in home gardens, these shoots focus on connection, movement, and real emotion. With space for children to run, explore, and be themselves, these sessions are perfect for those wonderfully wild ages where a posed studio setting wouldn’t truly capture who they are right now. Studio sessions take place at Rosebuds Studios in Aberystwyth. A beautiful, light-filled and neutral space, fully equipped with props, outfits and backdrops to suit all styles. From bold branding shoots like Gymponys, to calm newborn and maternity sessions, or little toddlers quietly twiddling their thumbs, the studio adapts effortlessly. It’s the perfect choice when you want soft, controlled lighting, a weather-proof setting, and a peaceful space that’s large enough for the whole family.

While the studio is perfect for clean, consistent imagery such as product photography and headshots, some businesses are best photographed in the heart of where the work happens. I am so happy that I booked an outdoor golden hour family shoot with May! May was totally relaxed and snapped the most gorgeous of pictures without us even noticing that she was snapping away. The whole experience was very relaxed, and she got the most perfect pictures that captured the boys’ personalities.
